NEET Phase 1 Cut Off 2016: NEET or the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test is a national level entrance exam conducted for students who wish to do MBBS or BDS under graduate courses. This exam is conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education. NEET Phase 1 Cut Off marks 2016 is depend on the level of question Paper. This is a national level exam; it is not an online exam but is instead a pen and paper exam.

This exam is of 180 marks, each question is of four marks. There will be negative marking, therefore, every correct question will add four marks where as every wrong question will deduct 1 marks (i.e. there will be -1 negative marking). The NEET phase one exam is the AIPMT medical exam which is the All India pre Medical Test. The subjects in this exam will be biology, chemistry, and physics. This exam is conducted in various centers across the country. The Central board of secondary education adapted a lot of things from the All India pre Medical test such as the dress code and other rules for the exam which remained same.
This year the phase one exam was conducted on the 1st of May 2016. The phase two examination will be held on July 24th 2016. It is a three hours paper. The results for both the papers are said to be declared on the 17th of August 2016. One the basis of NEET Phase 1 Cut Off 2016 the NEET counselling procedure will start after the declaration of the dates. Counselling is a procedure through which students are allocated seats in the colleges participating in this procedure based on their merits. This procedure is only for the students who have obtained marks more than the said cut off that is students that have been short listed for the merit list.
The cut-off for this year’s National Eligibility cum Entrance Test is based on several factors such as the level of difficulty of the exam, the number of seats that are available at the participating colleges and the number of students appearing for this exam. Based on this NEET Cut Off 2016, a NEET Merit list will be formed and only people who have scored above the said cut off will be short listed for the merit list. These students will be eligible to participate in counselling which will be held for 15% of the All India quota seats. The cut off also depends on the category the student belongs to as it is different for different categories.
The cut off according to the different categories and number of people who applied in the year 2016 is:
- The cutoff marks or the qualifying percentage for the open or general category is: 50%. The marks range for which is around 691-098.
- The cutoff and the qualifying percentage for the SC/ST/OBC categories is 40%. The marks range from which is 629-081.
- And that for the disabled is also 40%.
NEET Phase 1 Cut Off 2016:-
These NEET Cut Off have been finalized on the basis of categories the applicant belongs to and the number of students from that particular category that are applying. Based on these NEET 2016 Cut Off Marks the seat allocation process will be based. A merit list will be formed which will include students from all the categories who have obtained marks higher than the set cut off. The seat allocation will let the student chose a college of her/his preference. Higher the rank higher will be the chances of the applicant to get the wanted college.
